Cutting back on food waste this Christmas

The average household in the UK throws away about £700 of food each year – either by not using it in time, or through cooking too much.

Christmas, especially, sees food waste levels increase and with that in mind the County Council is working with the Eastern Daily Press to try and reduce food waste in Norfolk this festive period.  Keep an eye out for feature stories in the EDP, including an interview with some of our Love Food Hate Waste Champions and a chance for readers to win a signed copy of Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s “Love Your Leftovers” recipe book, if they send in their own ideas for saving waste.
