Possible change to grit bin service
One specific proposal, within the 'Re-imagining Norfolk' budget proposals, is a change to the grit bins service operated by the County Council..
The County Council currently fills grit bins that have been provided by town and parish councils, but do not charge for this service.
The council doesn’t have to do this by law and one proposal as part of the wider ‘Re-imagining Norfolk’ budget consultation (see Re-imagining Norfolk story) is to instead ask communities to provide their own salt, which could potentially be purchased through County Council highway depots.
The online consultation is available here. People can also comment by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
